    Spring Nursery

I thought I’d share some pics of our baby’s room. It’s ready and waiting for our third boy due in four weeks. The house is full of happy vibes in anticipation of his royal highnesses arrival.

Three beautiful boys. Yes, that’s right – the trifecta! It’s really happening. So far, I’ve had all sorts of comments, both good and interesting! I thought I’d share a few funny ones…..’Oh well, you can always try again’, ‘’ll be BUSY’, ‘Oh my god (shocked face), how do you feel about that?’, ‘Well, boys do love their mums’ and this one….’Hey, you could start a football team’.

As I pack my bag for hospital, I find my mind swirling with thoughts like….How will the birth go? Will I be overwhelmed? I wish my mum could be here to reassure me. How will I show all of my boys the same attention? I’ve been trying to use mindfulness to catch any nervy thoughts and replace them with calming ones like – surrender, let go and just soak it all in. Easier said than done! Most of all, I am so intrigued to learn what this new lil soul is all about. He sure was determined to be part of this family! It’s kind of cool to imagine what it will feel like to love another little human. You can’t imagine that your heart will stretch any further, but I’m told the joy will just flood in and when it does, it will be magic.

Details from left: Leather camping stool from Homecamp, cot by Leander and striped linen cot sheets by Major Minor. The wall wreath was made from long fresh Willow cuttings. I stuck it on the wall using Japanese washi tape from Mr Kitley. Washi tape doesn’t take off wall paint, which is so helpful. You could stick up whatever you like! Dried Eucalyptus leaves could work or anything that won’t drop its leaves.

On the desk from left: White change mat from Ikea, lambswool baby rug from Myer, Lambskin booties by Nature Baby, organic grey blanket by Pure Baby, handmade cream crochet blanket from childhood, small mushroom from North Fitzroy Nursery, candle by Diptique from Mecca Cosmetica and crystals from Natures Workshop

Wooden toy called ‘Torosaurus’ by Anamalz from The Boroughs, secondhand vintage sugar bowl was a gift from a dear friend), Creeping Fig plant from North Fitzroy Nursery, striped linen coaster from Fog Linen, Zeolite Crystal (helpful for absorbing and removing toxins) and Calcite Cluster Crystal (grounding and balancing) – both from Natures Workshop. Amazing shop in the back streets of Northcote!

On the left: Hanging ceramic planter from Nature Boy North. The plant is called Baby’s Tears from North Fitzroy Nursery, and the Marble/Birch Wall Hook is from The Wall Collective. On the right: 1960’s ‘Eclisse’ table lamp from Artemide. I love this little lamp. It’s perfect for a baby’s room because you can rotate the inner cover it to make it dim.

Hanging on the wall from left: Roussey striped jumpsuit from Yoli and Otis, cream cardigan by Uimi from Big Dreams and leather camping stool by Wood and Faulk from Homecamp. White desk from Ikea. It also doubles as a change table. Sisal carpet and rug by Floorspace.

Books from left: ‘The Hunting Of The Snark’ by Lewis Carroll, ‘A Forest’ by Marc Martin, ‘Rhymoceros’ by Janik Coat, ‘Brown Bear’ by Bill Martin and Jr. Eric Carle, ‘Round and Round and Square’ by Fredun Shapur, ‘Press Here’ by Herve Tullet and ‘ABC’s’ by Charlie Harper – all from Happy Valley.

Sweet baby clothes! From top left to right: Lambskin booties from Nature Baby NZ, jumpsuits from Marquise, cream cardigan by Uimi, woollen vest lovingly knitted by my mother in law (Thanks Suzie!), grey sausage dog toy from Fowlers Flowers, blue woollen booties were a gift from a dear family friend (thanks Bev!) and Roussey striped jumpsuit from Yoli and Otis.
